Asana Recovery is excited to announce a 401k plan for employees that will be available in August! More information about the plan to come soon!
Upcoming virtual training
There will be a virtual training on Medical 101 on July 20th for Asana Recovery staff.
Training will be led by Tania and will be available on Google Meets. The session will be recorded to watch at a later time if any staff are unable to attend live.
Boundaries with clients and staff
Working in the addictions industry is a special privilege. With the ability and opportunity to connect with those in the trenches of addiction, staff members need to keep professional boundaries with all clients and staff.
If you have questions on what is appropriate vs. inappropriate, ask your direct supervisor for guidance. Here are a few key points from the Asana Recovery Policy and Procedures Manual for reference:
Employees will not provide their personal contact information to present or past clients.
Employees will not share vape or tobacco products with clients.
Employees should be aware of their professionalism and maintain healthy boundaries with present and past clients. This also applies for social networking and media sites.
Employees will use appropriate professional and ethical judgment when posting pictures on social media sites.
Employees will maintain healthy and professional boundaries with clients at all times.
Employees will not engage in personal relationships with past or present clients.
New members of the Asana Recovery team
Learn more about your new members of staff!
Matt works in addictions because he wants to give back to the community. He prides himself on being the “calming force in the storm”. At Asana Recovery he works as a Behavioural Health Technician. You can find him doing client rounds, responding to client concerns, documenting medical observations, and working with clients and medical staff as needed.
He enjoys working out, hiking, and art in his free time. He shares his home with many roommates! Matt has six cats, one dog, two turtles, and four fish!
Radiance, or Rae, is an outdoorsy person and loves to hike. She shares her home as a fur baby mom and enjoys Sunset Beach, an amazing cup of coffee, and alone time to recharge. She also claims that polar plunging is her jam.
She says that addiction is a mental health issue that needs to be addressed, and while we’ve come a long way, she wants to be a part of the movement to end overdoses and assist others in finding a new way to live without drugs and alcohol.
As a Driver at Asana Recovery, Rae works closely with clients and staff. She offers transportation to clients to and from the facility, helps clients attend appointments, and assists with medical observation and appointment scheduling.
Asana Recovery trivia
We asked Asana Recovery staff to answer this question: What is the name of the world’s largest tree, and where is it located? (Hint: It’s somewhere in California!)
The winner is Jessica! Congratulations on winning a $5 gift card from Starbucks!
This week’s question is: What is the most expensive spice in the world?
Please submit your answers to HR. Correct answers will be entered into a draw for a $5 Starbucks gift card!
Local food suggestion
This week’s local food recommendation comes from Anna: Shredded beef hard tacos ($4.50) from Taco Mesa.
The shredded beef hard taco comes on a crispy corn tortilla with seasoned shredded beef, romaine, pico de gallo, crema, and queso fresco.
Taco Mesa is located at 647 W. 19th St, Costa Mesa, CA, 92627
It is open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
