New members of the Asana Recovery team
We would like to welcome five new members of staff this week:
Silvia Romero-Orozco - Therapist
Andrea Acosta - Medical Technician
Jim Erikson - Behavioral Health Technician
Rae Lewis - Behavioral Health Technician
Matt White - Behavioral Health Technician
Spotlight
Silvia joins Asana Recovery with a background in social work and has earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in the field. Her concentration is on mental health and she is currently working on getting her license in Clinical Social Work (LCSW).
As a Therapist at Asana Recovery, Silvia works to connect with clients struggling with interpersonal and relationship issues. She provides assistance with issues like self-esteem, family conflicts, grief and loss, and loneliness.
Silvia got started in the addictions industry because she believes that individuals who seek treatment before hitting “rock bottom” can achieve recovery with the right support and clinical care. She said, “I enjoy helping individuals develop healthy coping skills, as well as recognize their inner strengths and resilience.”
In her free time, she enjoys reflecting with meditation and tarot and also loves to stay active. She enjoys hiking, yoga, dancing, and participating in 10k runs! She also finds happiness in walking her dog Max, reading, traveling, attending music festivals, and enjoying coffee and chocolate.
James enjoys working in the addictions industry because he wants to help people. As a Behavioral Health Technician at Asana Recovery, he stays busy helping clients and medical staff with medication observation, appointment scheduling, and observation of client health. He provides information to clients about their detox medication, completes documentation, and completes client rounds.
He is skilled in computer tech and has a background in ecology after studying at Golden West College.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his dog and finds happiness in living a sober life.

The winner is Emily! Congratulations on winning a $5 gift card from Starbucks!
This week’s question is: What is the name of the world’s largest tree, and where is it located? (Hint: It’s somewhere in California!)
Please submit your answers to HR. Correct answers will be entered into a draw for a $5 Starbucks gift card!
