Asana Recovery Weekly Team Update: Healing Generational Trauma in Indigenous Communities
Asana Recovery Staff Receive Wellbriety Facilitator Certification
Wellbriety from Carla Naragon
Carla is so grateful to have been a part of this amazing facilitator training. With the growing number of Native American participants in Asana's IOP program, it is essential for us to have a deeper understanding of how their shared generational trauma directly contributes to the widespread epidemic of substance abuse and family pain. The Mending Broken Hearts Facilitator Training focuses on healing this generation of the atrocities that occurred to their elders as children who were forced to reside in government and church-run boarding schools. She learned about how the outcomes of that shared trauma lead to the current generation's living experience of self-loathing, secrecy, systemic sexual and physical abuse, alcoholism, and drug addiction.
“I highly recommend this training to anyone working with Native American populations. I promise that it will enhance and inform the life-saving care you are all dedicated to providing as trauma-informed providers. Oceans of Love” - Carla
