As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, it's the perfect time to shake off the winter blues and embrace new beginnings.

IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY
Featuring our own Carla Naragon, IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY runs from March 31st – April 16th at the Camino Real Playhouse in San Juan Capistrano. Set in a hospital, It Runs in the Family contains the usual assortment of farcical nuts running in and out of doors mistaking everybody for someone else, as Dr. Mortimore tries to fend off a paternity suit, an ex-wife, a rebellious daughter, and various other lunatics so that he may, at last, deliver the Ponsonby Lecture in an international conference. Mad capped zany fun!

New Hire Spotlight
Shaneace Wright
A mother of four daughters, Shaneace Wright is well-practiced at difficult-yet-rewarding work, and that carries over to her work as a Behavioral Health Technician for Asana Recovery. She came to this position as a recovering addict wanting “to give back.” She hopes to help others with addiction and/or mental health issues. “I want to let them know they aren't alone, and it’s possible to recover,” she says.
For fun, she likes eating, learning new things, spending time with family, and listening to music. But those aren’t the only things that make her happy. She loves helping others. “Getting that letter from a client saying they have been sober a year is the best!” she says.
Shaneace is studying sonography at Orange Coast College.
Abel Perez
Abel Perez, a driver at Asana Recovery, came to the position because of a desire to help people recover from addiction.
His hobbies include sports and reading. But his favorite thing to do is make people laugh. Abel has three kids and a dog, Sinba. He says three things that make him happy are “faith, family, and friends.”
Matt Freeman
With an associate degree in information technology from the University of Phoenix, Behavioral Health Technician Matt Freeman uses his tech savviness for fun creating electronic dance music. He loves spending time with his daughters, who are 19 and 15 years old.
Matt enjoys running support group meetings and got into working in addiction recovery because he says he “wanted to help others who have been in the pain of substance abuse.” But you might not want to make him angry because he has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do!

The answer to last week’s trivia question: Drinking is such a big part of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations because the holiday falls smack dab in the middle of Lent, the 40-day period when Christians are supposed to abstain from many pleasures and focus on Christian virtues. However, on St. Patrick’s Day, Lent’s restrictions were temporarily lifted, so people were granted license to eat and drink to their heart’s content.
