International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month
March 8 is International Women’s Day- a global day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. Since the first International Women's Day in 1911, there have been significant changes. Back then, only eight nations permitted women to vote, reproductive rights were absent, and the idea of equal pay for equal work was unheard of - assuming that women could even work.

Sabrina Johnson
Sabrina Johnson, a new Admissions Counselor at Asana Recovery, is fearless. At least, when it comes to amusement park rides. “I will ride any roller coaster - no matter how scary it is,” she says.
Sabrina has a one-year-old daughter and a dog named Biscuit, and she loves spending time with them. Her other hobbies include going to theme parks (obviously!), reading, and watching movies.
Sabrina says she’s excited to join the team at Asana Recovery to help people who are suffering from addiction change their lives as she has.

The answer to last week’s trivia question: While mind-altering substances have been used since the dawn of humans, problematic use of substances was observed as early as the 17th century. The American Medical Association (AMA) classified alcoholism as a disease in 1956 and included addiction as a disease in 1987.
