BUT FIRST-Our Call-Out Policy
In the first quarter of the year, there were a total of 61 call-outs. SIXTY-ONE CALL-OUTS!!!
To put it another way, that is 61 shifts your team members have helped cover.
While we understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can arise, we want to remind all employees that excellent attendance is an expectation at Asana Recovery.
As we strive to provide the highest quality care to our clients, we must maintain a strong and dependable team. When team members call out, it has a ripple effect on the rest of the team and disrupts the smooth functioning of our operations. It can also lead to an increased workload for other team members, affecting their work-life balance and overall well-being. (See Stress Awareness Month info below!)
We encourage all employees to prioritize attendance and to communicate with their supervisors as soon as possible in case of any absence.
For April we are currently at 0 Days without a call-out.
Asana Recovery Call-out Policy
Employees are expected to be on time and dress appropriately when their scheduled shift begins or resumes. If an employee is unable to be at work on time, or at all, they must call their manager no later than two hours before the start of their scheduled work day. Asana Recovery will allow three unscheduled callouts per quarter. A quarter is defined as one-fourth of a year (Q1: Jan, Feb, March. Q2: April, May, June, etc. ) Three unscheduled callouts will result in disciplinary actions up to, and including, termination.
A no-call no-show will result in immediate disciplinary action.
Excessive tardiness or absences are unacceptable job performance. If an employee is absent for three consecutive days and has not provided proper notification, the Company will assume that the employee has voluntarily quit their position and will proceed with the termination process.
Thank you for your commitment to Asana Recovery and your continued dedication to our mission!
April Is Full of Special Events
You may not realize it, but April is full of special events that celebrate things that are important to us - as well as raise awareness for these important causes.
For an issue that’s close to most of our hearts at Asana Recovery, you might be interested to know that April is Alcohol Awareness Month, which encourages people to reflect on their alcohol use and get help if they think they have a problem with alcohol. If you’d like to learn more about the public awareness campaign, or use informational resources available, find out more about Alcohol Awareness Month.
World Autism Month kicks off on April 2 with the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day to work towards more understanding and acceptance for people on the autism spectrum.
It’s also Stress Awareness Month, which aims to help people understand that long-term, chronic stress can have harmful impacts on health. How about committing yourself to learning some new things about how to cope with stress?

Kayla Nozaki
While working on hours for a school internship, Kayla Nozaki, a therapist at Asana Recovery, developed a passion for working with people struggling with addiction.
Kayla earned her Master’s Degree in clinical mental health counseling (specializing in trauma and crisis) from Walden University. Currently, she’s enrolled in a Ph.D. program for clinical psych at Walden.

Nicole Biron
Nicole Biron decided to become a therapist in the addiction and recovery field while completing her Master’s degree. As a clinical assistant, she discovered that she loved working alongside individuals working toward recovery. Since then, she has worked in every level of care for addiction treatment, now joining Asana Recovery as a therapist in the outpatient program. Part of her commitment to the work is personal, however, because Nicole has had friends and family who have struggled with addictions.
An avid traveler, Nicole has visited 26 countries and has seen the northern lights in two countries.
Nicole got married last October, and she and her husband have two dogs: a black lab mix and a teacup chihuahua. When they can leave their “fur babies,” Nicole and her husband enjoy going to Disneyland together and on “foodie adventures” throughout California.
Before working in addiction recovery, Nicole worked with the veteran population at a veteran facility. She graduated from Vanguard University in 2021 with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology after receiving her Bachelor’s in psychology from Concordia University in 2018.
Shantelle Stancin
Shantelle Stancin, a case manager at Asana Recovery, believes you “have to give it away to keep it.” She’s referring to recovery and her desire to help others find the “hope, light, and support” that has helped her stay sober since November 28, 2016. She’s also fascinated by psychology and learning about therapeutic tools for recovery.”
Shantelle graduated from California State University, Fullerton. Her family includes her boyfriend Brandon and their cat, TyTy. She finds happiness in ice cream, spending time in nature, and spending time with friends.
For fun, Shantelle does a diverse assortment of hobbies, including snowboarding, riding her bike, snorkeling, traveling, and checking things off bucket lists. Impressively, she can do the splits and backflips.
