Hispanic Heritage Month: September 15 - October 15
Hispanic Heritage Month takes place from September 15th to October 15th every year! It recognizes the rich history, vibrant cultures, and countless contributions of Hispanic and Latino individuals to US history and society.
This month-long celebration actually starts on September 15th because it marks the independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico celebrates its independence on September 16th, followed by Chile on September 18th.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, people come together to appreciate the diverse cultures that make up the Hispanic and Latino communities. These cultures include Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, Colombian, Venezuelan, and many more, each with its own unique traditions, languages, music, and delicious cuisines!
Hispanic Heritage Month is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to learn and appreciate the diverse perspectives and experiences within the Hispanic and Latino community. It encourages dialogue, understanding, and respect for different cultures and backgrounds. Learn more at www.hispanicheritagemonth.com.
